NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – The director of World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom on Wednesday called on the governments of Ethiopia and Eritrea to end a prolonged siege on the war-wrecked region of Tigray where millions of people are on the brink of starvation.

7 weeks ago, a truce was called in Tigray but only 5% of humanitarian supplies have been allowed in,” Tedros tweeted. “People are starving to death & it is intentional. The health system has collapsed. I ask Ethiopian and Eritrean governments to end the siege & allow sustained access for aid.”
