Mogadishu’s Yaqshid District Commissioner Survives Bomb Attack

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) –At least two people were killed in a roadside bomb explosion targeting Mogadishu’s Yaqshid district commissioner Muse Gesey, officials say.

The district commissioner is said to have survived the blast which targeted his vehicle shortly after returning from ex-Konis stadium in the city’s Abdiasis district on Sunday morning.

Reports say the vehicle of the district commissioner was badly damaged by the explosion.

At least two people are said to have been killed in the attack with several others wounded.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Yaqshid district commissioner had survived a similar bomb attack several weeks ago for which Al-Shabaab armed group claimed responsibility.
