NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Tigray government said on Saturday that there was no conflict in the region and nearby areas impeding the delivery of aid, and accused Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of siege-starving residents in the war-wrecked region.
In a statement, Tigrayan authorities called on the United Nations not to blame conflict and point finger to a de facto humanitarian blockade imposed by the Ethiopian government.
“Unless promptly corrected, the latest misattribution of culpability for the persistent obstruction of humanitarian operations will allow the Abiy regime to continue siege-starving the people of Tigray while disavowing responsibility for it,” Tigray government said in a statement.
