NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Heavily-armed fighters of the militant group Al-Shabaab stopped a bus in northeastern Kenya on Friday and gave hours-long lecture to passengers before allowing them to proceed on their trip, Nation Africa reported on Saturday.

Kenyan police said militants had stopped an Al-Mukaram company passenger bus at Lag Mata Kuta area between Dabacity and Dimu hill and ordered passengers to disembark.

Insurgents “searched for non-locals for more than two hours. The bus was heading to Mandera from Nairobi,” police report noted.

A taxti operator and a boda boda were also stopped, with their passengers ordered out.

Al-Shabaab fighters gave a long speech in Somali language to the passengers after dividing themselves into two groups: one speaking to the passengers and another being on guard in the nearby bushes.

All travels were released hours later and safely arrived their destinations later in the day.
