NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Two roadside bomb explosions targeted Kenyan troops in Lamu and Garissa counties for which Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility on Sunday.
The armed militant group said via affiliated media that 20 Kenyan soldiers had been in a roadside blast targeting a military vehicle in Garissa County on Saturday.
A separate roadside bomb attack struck a convoy of Kenyan troops on the road linking Milimani and Mangay villages in the coastal County of Lamu, according to insurgents, who did not say if there were casualties.
Kenyan authorities have not immediately commented on the attacks and insurgents’ claims.
