NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Ethiopia and Eritrea’s armies launched another round of large-scale offensive in the direction of Northeastern Tigray, the region’s central command said on Monday, days after both sides expressed readiness to participate in AU-mediated peace talks.
“The allied forces have bombed the towns of Adigrat, Rama and other areas bordering Eritrea with heavy artillery inflicting damage on civilian population of the towns,” Tigray’s central command said.
The renewed offensive has targeted the fronts of Zalambessa, Rama and Tserona, according to Tigrayan authorities.
Ethiopian and Eritrean officials have not yet commented on the claim.
