NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – A rebel group in Ethiopia’s Somali region said it had teamed up with Tigray forces in their year-long fighting against Abiy Ahmed’s government and its allies, as the conflict in Africa’s second most populous nation continues to expand.
“We are ready to work with our brothers in the United Front of Ethiopian Federalist and Confederalist Forces to defeat the fascist government of Abiy Ahmed,” a spokesman for Somali State Resistance tweeted on Saturday, referring to a coalition of rebel groups that includes Tigrayan forces and Oromo Liberation Army (OLA).
