MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A person carrying Somalia passport is among 9 new terror suspects, including 7 women, who were arrested during probe into ISIS-affiliated cell raided by Sudan’s security forces last week in the capital Khartoum, Al Sharq news website reported on Monday.

On Monday, Sudanese counter-terrorism forces raided another “terrorist cell” in the Jabra area, south of the capital Khartoum, where a fierce exchange of gunfire was heard. Armored military vehicles were seen moving towards the neighborhood as the gunfight broke out.

Four members of the terror sleeper cell and a Sudanese security officer were killed in the clashes, sources were quoted as saying by Al Sharq.

It comes days after 5 security officers were killed in a similar raid on a building housing ISIS-aligned cell in Khartoum. Troops arrested 11 members of the group and their leader has been later detained in Port Sudan while trying to escape.
