NAIROBI (Somaliguardian) – Sudan’s on Sunday accused Ethiopian army of executing seven Sudanese soldiers and a civilian held captive for months after being kidnapped in cross-border attacks last year.
In a statement published on Sudanese state media, the army called the killings treacherous and vowed that there would be a response. It gave no further details about the alleged executions.
Ethiopia’s government has not immediately commented on the allegation.
It comes after months of lull in border clashes between Ethiopian and Sudanese troops over control of the disputed Al-Fashaqa triangle.
