Egyptian Fighter Jets Flying over Nile amid Heightened Tensions

KHARTOUM (Somaliguardian) – Egyptian army has released a video of the recent “Eagles of the Nile 2) joint military drills with Sudanese forces, shortly after the Renaissance dam talks with Ethiopia and Sudan in Congo’s capital, Kinshasa collapsed on Tuesday.

The video shows Egyptian MiG-29 fighters and Sudanese FTC-2000 fighter jets flying over the Nile for the second time after similar maneuvers dubbed “Eagles of the Nile 1” were made last year.

The maneuvers have come hours after Egyptian Foreign Minister said his government will act if the Ethiopian dam reduces access to water for its citizens and has different scenarios to protect its water security after Congo talks made “no progress”.
