MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s custodial corps chief Mahad Abdirahman Adan escaped an assassination attempt on his life after bomb blast targeted his convoy in the Somali capital, Mogadishu on Thursday morning, officials say.

Al-Qaeda-linked militant group Al-Shabaab has said it carried out the attack, claiming to have killed 3 soldiers and wounded 7 others. The custodial corps chief was the target of the bomb blast, according to statement by the Islamist group.
