MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab executed four men, including two soldiers in two of its strongholds in south Somalia after being convicted by courts of the Islamist movement.

Abdullahi Oyow Mayane, 20, who had been convicted of committing acts of homosexuality against a 6-year-old boy was executed by firing squad on Wednesday in the town of Kamsuma, along with a 24-year-old Jubaland soldier Abdullahi Mohamed Farah, according to media affiliated with the group.

It came just days after Al-Shabaab publicly executed another two men in the town of Jamame in the Middle Juba region, a key stronghold of the militant movement.

One of the men Mohamed Mowlid Adan, 48, was a member of Jubaland forces and had been captured at Janay Abdalle village outside the coastal town of Kismayo, it said.

The group claimed to have executed a magician who had been caught red-handed in the agricultural town of Jamame, in a field where hundreds of people had gathered this week.
