MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – An Angry army officer threw grenade at a busy restaurant in Tarabunka area of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Monday as residents complain about robbery and other attacks against them by members of the security forces, Caasimada Online news website reported.
The owner of the attacked restaurant told Shabelle TV that the soldier had earlier threatened to kill her for not giving him a free meal.
“The bomb was thrown at me by Abdullahi Ahmed Yusuf, a member of the Somali army. He earlier threatened that he would kill me if I had refused to provide him with a free meal,” Udbi, the owner of the restaurant said.
Somali security authorities have not yet commented on the incident and there have been no reports of casualties by the grenade attack.
