MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – A suicide car bomb targeted a compound housing security forces in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Tuesday, killing at least one person and injuring three others, police said.
The attack struck the former land administration office for Mogadishu municipality, which is home to UAE-backed Somali security forces in charge of the security of the capital.
Police spokesman said an employee with Mogadishu Municipality was killed and three others wounded in the assault.
Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility, saying it had killed 23 soldiers amid tight security in Somali capital as authorities continue an offensive against the group in the central region of Galgadud.
