MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Death toll from two car bombs that exploded outside the Ministry of Education in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Saturday has risen to 120, the Minister of Health Ali Haji Adan said on Monday.
The attack claimed by Al-Shabaab left nearly 300 people wounded, according to authorities while a number of people have been missing since Saturday.
Adan added that a further 150 people were being treated in hospital.
An Al-Shabaab official Mahad Karate said on Monday that the group had killed 69 soldiers and state employees in the bombings, warning Mogadishu residents to keep their businesses away from government ministries and other potential targets for the group.
