MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Ethiopia’s deputy permanent representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Nebiyu Tedla on Saturday labeled Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi as an Al-Shabaab agent.
In comments on recent remarks by Fiqi that his government will support Ethiopian rebels if Addis Ababa pursues its controversial port deal with Somaliland, Tedla stressed that such action will lead Somalia into ruin.
“It’s comical to witness Al-Shabaab agents posing as government officials, who are unable to function effectively outside of Banaadir babbling hallow nationalism, driven by narrow clan centralization,” Tedla said in a statement on X.
“Such will only undermine years of progress and lead Somalia into the pit,” he added.
