EU ‘strongly condemns’ deadly car bombing in Somalia’s capital

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The European Union on Monday condemned deadly car bomb attack at a restaurant in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu and expressed solidarity with the Somali government. 

“The EU strongly condemns the bomb attack last night in Mogadishu, targeting a cafe with football fans watching the #Euro2024,” the EU said in a statement on X. 

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims & wish a swift recovery to the injured.” 

In the statement, the European Union added that it stands with Somalia during this difficult time.
