MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Heavy fighting between Somaliland troops and SSC forces again erupted on the outskirts of Lasanod town on Thursday, a day after clashes between the two sides left a number of people dead, Caasimada Online news website reported.
The gunfight is underway in the village of Buqdharkeyn in Togdheer region where authorities in control of Lasanod town claimed to have seized it on Wednesday.
Authorities of Sool, Sanaag and Cayn regions (SSC) said Somaliland troops and allied clan militias had attacked positions of their forces, triggering the gun battle. Casualties on both sides have not been immediately known.
