MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s government on Thursday reported two new airstrikes conducted by its international partners in Al-Shabaab-controlled areas in the central regional states of Galmudug and Hirshabelle.
The strikes hit Barag Sheikh Amir in Galmudug and Ali Heelle in Hirshabelle targeting Al-Shabaab insurgents, the Ministry of Information said in a statement, claiming that 9 rebels were killed in the operations.
There has been no independent confirmation of the assertion due to the remote nature of the targeted area.
