IGAD chief arrives in Somalia’s capital for talks on ‘enhancing cooperation’

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – The Executive Secretary of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Workneh Gebeyehu arrived in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Monday for talks on boosting cooperation, Somali Foreign Ministry said. 

“FM Ahmed Moalim Fiqi welcomed IGAD Executive Secretary Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu in Mogadishu,” Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on X. 

 “Discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation, regional security, climate change, and establishing Somalia’s first Blue Economy Centre of Excellence.”
