Mayor of Mogadishu says key roads in Somalia’s capital will be reopened after years-long closure

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Mayor of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu Yusuf Hussein Jimale on Wednesday said key roads in the city will be reopened for the first time in a number of years.

Speaking at a ceremony held to the unveil a newly constructed road in Taleh neighborhood of Mogadishu, the mayor said the road closures will be brought to an end in cooperation with the government of Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.

It is not the first time authorities promise reopening main roads in the city, on the contrary, the government has made similar pledges over the past years.
