MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – At least two people were killed and 6 others wounded on Thursday after mortar shells landed at a highly-protected area of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
Al-Qaeda-aligned militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the assault, saying it had targeted police headquarters in the city.
It came days after Somali police chief vowed that security forces will prevent attacks from militants and curtail growing anti-security activities.
