MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – At least four mortar shells landed on the headquarters of police and the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in a heavily-fortified green-zone area in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu early on Sunday, Caasimada Online news website reported.
Huge explosions were heard through the city shortly before the call to morning prayers. At least one soldier was reported to have been injured in the attack.
No one has immediately claimed responsibility but the Al-Qaeda-linked militant group Al-Shabaab often carries out gun and bomb attacks in the Somali capital.
