Mortar strike injures 4 in Somalia’s capital

Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – At least four children were injured after mortar shells landed on some of the neighborhoods in the highly-fortified green-zone in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Saturday evening, Caasimada Online news website reported.

The mortar shells hit areas in Yaqshid and Bondhere districts as authorities continue to deploy more troops in an effort to hold Al-Shabaab insurgents at bay from the capital and prevent their attacks.

It comes just a few weeks after another mortar strike targeted the presidential complex.
