MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Members of Puntland regional troops staged mutiny outside the northeastern Somali region’s presidential palace on Wednesday, protesting over unpaid salaries.

The soldiers with a number of military vehicles closed a road leading to regional presidential palace in the town of Garowe and halted traffic.

It is not the first time region’s troops have staged mutiny, but over the past weeks members of the regional security forces closed roads in Galkayo and Garowe demanding their salaries.
