Somali Militants Claim Killing Two American Officers in Recent Car Bomb Blast

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Al-Shabaab militant group in Somalia has claimed that it killed two American officers in a car bomb attack on a road leading to Adan Adde Airport in the capital Mogadishu on Wednesday.

In a statement broadcast by its Andalus radio station, the group said two other American officers wounded in the blast, who had been airlifted to Djibouti for medical treatment.

The United States and the federal government have not immediately commented on the claims by militants. On Wednesday, deputy governor of Banadir region Ali Yare said at least five soldiers were killed in the attack and five civilians wounded.

Head of Amin Ambulance services said at least eight people were killed in the suicide car bomb explosion targeting a convoy, including bullet-proof vehicles.
