MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia and Ethiopia’s intelligence agencies signed an agreement on Friday to boost cooperation against Al-Qaeda-aligned insurgent group Al-Shabaab and other militant groups, Somali state media reported.

Somali spy chief Mahad Salad and the Deputy Director of the Ethiopian Intelligence Agency Sisay Tola agreed on joint efforts to counter threats from militant groups in the Horn of Africa, though authorities have not yet disclosed terms of the agreement.

It came months after Somali and Ethiopian police chiefs agreed to work together on combatting Al-Shabaab, enhancing border security and ways of preventing other cross-border crimes.
