MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia on Monday condemned a deadly attack in the capital of the United Arab Emirates claimed by Yemen-based Houthi rebels, who said they had used drones and missiles to hit several targets in Abu Dhabi.

Somali Foreign Minister Abdisaid Muse Ali denounced the “terrorist attack”, weeks after the Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble apologized to the UAE over seizure of cash in Mogadishu in a diplomatic gesture to revive bilateral ties.

On behalf of the FGS (the federal government of Somalia), I express my deep condolences to the victims and their families.” he tweeted. “We stand in solidarity with the people of UAE.”

Iran-aligned Houthis in Yemen claimed credit for an attack on Monday that killed at least three people after booby-trapped drones struck fuel trucks setting off explosions and fire near the airport of Abu Dhabi. The United States and Saudi Arabia are among countries that condemned the attack.
