MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia declared an Ethiopian diplomat persona non grata on Tuesday, citing involvement in activities that are incompatible with his diplomatic duties.
In a statement, the Somali government instructed Ali Mohamed Adan, also known as Ali Garre, a counselor at the Ethiopian embassy, to leave the country within 72 hours of receiving the notice.
Somali officials assert that Ali Garre is a colonel in Ethiopia’s military intelligence and used his diplomatic status as a cover to travel across various regions in Somalia.
