Somalia Int’l partners urge MPs to elect president who can ‘advance peace’

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – On the eve of Somalia’s presidential election, the international partners urged MPs to choose a president with leadership qualities who can advance peace in a country that has been plagued by three decades of conflict.

On the eve of Somalia’s Presidential election, international partners call on all members of Parliament to discharge their constitutional responsibility in the best interests of the country,” Somalia’s international partners said in a statement.

We urge the parliamentarians to vote their conscience by choosing the candidate they believe offers the policies and leadership qualities to advance peace, stability, prosperity, and sound governance in the years ahead.”
