MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia and Kenya signed a number of bilateral agreements on Monday, hours after Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre arrived in Nairobi in his first official state visit, his office said.
“The Governments of Somalia and Kenya have reached a historic milestone today by signing significant bilateral agreements at the third session of Somalia—Kenya Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC), which was held in Nairobi,” the office of Somali Prime Minister said in a statement.
“The agreements spanned various crucial areas including in foreign relations, security, economy, trade, education and social services. H.E Ahmed Ma’alim Fiqi, the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the agreements on behalf of Somalia, while Kenya was represented by H.E Musalia Mudavadi, in his capacity as the Cabinet Secretary of Foreign Affairs.”
