MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s government said on Sunday it was extremely concerned about rising Middle East tensions after Iran launched retaliatory strikes against Israel on Saturday.
“The Federal Republic of Somalia is deeply concerned about the recent developments in the Middle East and strongly urges all parties involved to immediately halt further escalation and exercise maximum restraint,” Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
“These rising hostilities and tensions threaten not only regional stability but also global peace and security,” it added.
Somalia also called for “an immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on Gaza” and “a just resolution based on the two-state solution.”
