MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s new spy chief Mahad Mohamed Salad on Wednesday ordered the bodyguards of his immediate predecessor to return to work, just a few days after he had taken charge and began a whole-sale reform in the scandal-hit agency.
Mr Salad gave an instruction that about 30 NISA agents guarding the residence of Fahad Yasin, who flew abroad before the handover of power to the new President last month, and their technical vehicles return to work.
Meanwhile, three top spy officials have been arrested over the past days due to their close ties to the former head of the intelligence agency Fahad Yasin. Among them is Jaylani Mohamed who had been working at Mogadishu airport before he was fired by the new spy boss.
