Somalia ‘Strongly’ Condemns Deadly Baghdad Market Bombings

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s government has on Friday strongly condemned twin bombings in a busy market in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad that left 32 people dead and more than 100 others wounded.

Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the attacks, which it called “cowardly terrorist bombings”.

“Somalia strongly condemns the two cowardly terrorist bombings that today targeted a popular market for used clothes in Al-Tayyar square in the center of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and resulted in a large number of deaths and injuries among unarmed civilians,” statement by Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.

Somalia’s government said its thoughts were with the people of Iraq and sent condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the attacks.
