MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s army chief Ibrahim Sheikh Muhidin has met US military officials amid a scandal over theft of rations donated by Washington to help boost the operations of Danab, an elite Somali force trained and equipped by the United States, Caasimada Online news website reported on Tuesday.
The meeting came days after Somali authorities said they had arrested a number of “high-ranking” military officials in connection to the theft and that they will appear before a military court.
