Somalia’s cabinet approves judicial cooperation agreement with Turkey

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s cabinet on Thursday approved a judicial cooperation agreement with Turkey, covering areas including legal assistance and extradition of the accused, state media reported.

It comes months after the son of Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud killed a Turkish motorist in an Istanbul car accident and fled the country, though he was later returned. Both Somali and Turkish governments have not yet confirmed whether the incident led to the inking of the new agreement.
