Somalia’s cabinet approves ‘temporary’ budget ahead of presidential vote

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s cabinet approved a “temporary” $206,474,223 budget allocated for government expenditures between April and June this year as the country gears up for the conduct of presidential vote after the conclusion of parliamentary polls, the office of the Prime Minister said on Sunday.

Speaking shortly after a cabinet meeting, Minister of Finance Abdirahman Bayle said ministers had agreed to endorse a proposed three-month budget which will be used for government expenditures until a parliament that could debate a new budget is sworn in.
