MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on Wednesday condemned police abuses against tuk-tuk drivers who were peacefully protesting in Mogadishu against newly-imposed license taxes.
“Abuses and torture against youth who were peacefully conveying their complaints are unacceptable and will discourage the Somali youth who have trusted and stood for the reconstruction of their country,” the former President said in a statement.
