MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Monday arrived in Kenya’s capital Nairobi in his first official state visit to the neighboring East African nation, his office said.

Barre was received by Kenyan Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense as well as Somali ambassador to Kenya.

During his visit, Barre is set to hold talks with Kenyan government officials on issues of mutual interest, including security and trade. Local media reports suggest that the Somali Premier was sign a controversial Khat import trade with Kenyan President William Ruto at the expense of conflict-torn nation’s economy.
