MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Sunday received members of the parliament of the East African Community (EAC) at his office, months after Mogadishu joined the economic bloc.
Barre thanked to the member states of the bloc for approving Somalia’s entry into the EAC and called for expediting the completion of remaining technical issues for the country’s integration into the East African market, his office said.
“I call on member states of the EAC to continue support for efforts to unify policies and regulations to create an environment conducive for investors and traders,” Barre said.
“They should continue strengthening cooperation on regional security … and stability,” he added.
