MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre said on Tuesday his government is committed to ending Al-Shabaab insurgency within a year amid ongoing military offensive.
Speaking to Somali diaspora community in Egypt, Barre said that military operations to dislodge Al-Shabaab from vast swathes of territory in south and central Somalia will be complete by the end of 2023.
He added that authorities will also pay more efforts in debt relief campaign and completion of the constitution to end repeated disputes between state and federal leaders.
