Somalia’s police to impose 33-hour curfew on Mogadishu ahead of election

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s police will impose a 33-hour curfew on the capital Mogadishu from 9 p.m on Saturday until 6 a.m on Monday ahead of presidential election scheduled for Sunday, a spokesman told media on Saturday.

Abdifatah Adan Hassan, spokesperson of Somali police said the move aims to further beef up security of the city during Sunday’s election, weeks after the capital witnessed a surge in attacks carried out by Al-Shabaab insurgents.
