MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Cairo on Wednesday evening for an official state visit, at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Villa Somalia said.
During his visit, President Mohamud is poised to engage in high-level talks with President el-Sisi, focusing on fortifying bilateral relations, intensifying collaboration in counterterrorism efforts, and advancing economic ties between the two nations.
Additionally, the two leaders are expected to deliberate on the recent agreement between Ethiopia and Somalia, a development that has raised concerns in Egypt, which has recently been actively cultivating stronger relations with Mogadishu to bolster its strategic influence in the Horn of Africa.
