Somalia’s president calls for peaceful end to Lasanod conflict

Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Tuesday called for parties to the conflict in Lasanod town to end ongoing clashes and resolve their dispute through dialogue.

Mohamud sent condolences to those who had lost their loved ones in the fighting and urged both sides to show restraint to prevent further bloodshed.

Somali President said the will of people in Lasanod cannot be hijacked at gunpoint, referring to Somaliland clampdown against regional people, days after traditional leaders announced that they are not part of the separatist state.
