MOGADISHU (somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud convened a security meeting with Banadir regional officials and police commanders, days after he had promised to revive stalled offensive against insurgents.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the mayor of Mogadishu, district officials and commanders in charge of the security of the capital, who briefed the President about plans to secure the city.
It comes ahead of the meeting of National Consultative Council which is scheduled for April 20 and a week after the United States warned of attacks at multiple locations in Mogadishu.
