MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Saturday appointed two of his key allies as special envoys amid growing anger by clans over the distribution of government positions.

The President named former leader of Galmudug State Abdikarin Ahmed Guled as his special envoy for Somaliland affairs to lead upcoming talks with the authorities of the break-away region.

Mohamud also appointed the former leader of Hirshabelle state Mohamed Abdi Ware as his special envoy for stabilization to “coordinate efforts to ensure the protection of civilians and the provision of critical services.”
