Somalia’s president, Saudi crown prince agree to step up security cooperation

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Saudi crown prince Mohamed bin Salman agreed on a wide range of issues, including security cooperation cooperation, agriculture, climate change, energy as well as the situation in Palestine, Yemen and Sudan.

In a statement, Saudi Arabia reaffirmed “utmost care” for the unity of Somalia as Mogadishu seeks Riyadh’s support in countering UAE-backed deal between Ethiopia and Somaliland that grants Addis Ababa a leased land along the Red Sea.
