Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s new President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to visit Kenya’s capital Nairobi on the second leg of his first foreign trip since he was re-elected last month.

On Sunday, Mohamud arrived in the United Arab Emirates for talks with the Gulf Arab country’s new ruler Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which are set to focus on strengthening diplomatic ties.

Somali President received an invitation to visit Nairobi from Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is pressing Mogadishu to lift a two-year ban on Kenyan narcotic khat imports. The two are expected to discuss ways to resume diplomatic relations after years of hiatus.
