Somalia’s president warned against traveling with defense minister to Mahas town

Somalia

MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somalia’s special envoy for stabilization and civilian protection Mohamed Abdi Ware on Friday warned President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud against traveling with his defense minister to the town of Mahas due to “safety” concerns.

“Dear President @HassanSMohamud, for his safety, for the salvation of the operation against the Shabaab and for your integrity, don’t bring this gentleman, his minions and those responsible for the Coosweyne and Galacad debacles to Maxaas,” he tweeted.

It comes amid growing calls for the Somali President to sack his defense minister and intelligence chief following key battle reversals in the central region of Galgadud.
