MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi on Tuesday said his government is committed to implementing a sea access deal with landlocked Ethiopia, months after the agreement triggered a diplomatic tiff between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark June 26, the day the northern region gained its independence from Britain, Bihi stressed that his government will formalize the memorandum of understanding signed in January and that he will sign it into law despite opposition from Somalia’s federal government.
